PM5 Stationery pad-event labels cover content boxes
« on: July 09, 2012, 08:27:02 PM »
The Event and location labels cover the Image Content drop down boxes. Is it suppose to be like that?

No.  I take it you've customized the size of your fonts system-wide?

Is there some way you can reduce the font size to 100% just for Photo Mechanic?

Kirk, I don't think you can do that. My parents in law have their windows 7 system at 125% font size too (for easier reading) and some apps (like PM now) just don't like that, I couldn't find a way to set font to 100% for an individual application though.

But shouldn't PM be able to adapt to this? I mean, with the higher resolution screens available now people will be using >100% more often these days, don't you think.

The computer must be restarted after changing system fonts so it isn't convenient  to change back and forth. My eyes just aren't as good as they used to be.
I have another program that exhibits the same behavior and I have looked for another solution when I installed it.
It doesn't make PM5 unusable, just a little messy looking at the increased font size.

From your screen shot, I'd have to say that it was pretty much unusable.  I'll see what I can do.

I also have font size on Windows 7 set to 125% (because my screen is such high res). That may account for thr IPTC Stationary Pad being slightly cut off on the right.

Give Public Beta 3 a try.  It shouldn't have this problem anymore.

Other elements like the toolbars, Favorites/Navigator sort popup menus, etc. still exist, but the IPTC dialogs should be very usable now on 125% or 150% DPI settings.

Hi Kirk.

Attached is how the windows looks now. The labels are now good. However, the cancel button is almost completely cut off.

Are there other font/DPI customizations going on in your system?  When I set my system to use 125% DPI, the IPTC dialogs look fine.  What are your settings?

Everyone,

This should be solved in Photo Mechanic: Version 5 Beta 4 which you can get here:

http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=7425.0

I have tried 100%, 110%, 125% and 150% DPI and the buttons, text fields, popup menus, etc. are accessible.

Please give it a try and let me know if any of you have any further issues with the IPTC Stationery Pad dialog.

Thanks,

-Kirk
